Foundations for Service Work
Foundations for Service Work focuses on the core skills a dog needs to succeed in service work. This training builds basic obedience, confidence in new environments, and strong engagement with the handler. You and your dog will learn essential cues, practice navigating novel situations, and begin developing the stability and focus needed for future service dog training.
Task Training
Task Training focuses on teaching the specialized skills that allow a service dog to directly assist their handler with a disability. This training may include scent-based alerts, behavioral interruption, retrievals, and other individualized tasks tailored to the handler’s needs.
Reactivity Training
Reactivity Training focuses on helping dogs learn to stay calm and regulated around triggers such as other dogs, people, or environmental stimuli. Through structured training, dogs build confidence, improve emotional regulation, and develop alternative behaviors that allow them to navigate challenging situations more successfully.
Public Access Skills
Public Access Skills training prepares service dogs to behave calmly, safely, and reliably in public spaces. Dogs learn essential manners such as loose-leash walking, ignoring distractions, settling quietly, navigating crowds and tight spaces, and remaining focused on their handler.
